ARTIST REVIEW

Foto perfil Carlos Gómez Herrera 2.jpg

My work has always been within figuration, where the human being has been the protagonist, scenes where loneliness predominates, the psychological part of the character, surrounded by his own environment, his objects that define him in some way, with which in one way or another they identify each character as particular scenery. However, these characters in their spaces, are for me as a pretext, to develop an atmosphere, a texture, a color palette and that is where my pictorial search focuses most of course, in that I like to experiment in various languages, techniques, and express myself freely without limiting myself to only a subject such as urban art  (personal indoors and outdoors).

I have never wanted to stagnate, I like to reinvent myself and explore other techniques and other ways of resolving, both the compositions and my themes, always supported in being, because this keeps me restless.

I am never and I think I am not happy at all with the results, I want to go further and that is why I am not satisfied, by my restless nature and somewhat explosive, I do not serve to "sobar" for a long time the works, that is why I have ventured into a certain somewhat expressionist figuration, both in the form and in  the solution to the composition,  structure, etc. For this reason and  to have new forms of expression I have ventured at times to work with my left hand, seeking to be the inner child that refuses to disappear which leads me to new languages.

I also have abstract work as an exercise that allows me some rest and tranquility, although it is another type of plastic and pictorial problem, incursion into sculpture, through different materials, which provide according to these a number of possibilities iron in sheet, rod, wax, plasticine, etc., because I also like to do assemblages with recycled materials that I find on the street to which I give them other contexts.
